he-man to the rescue!

i was thinking in the shower this morning (because standing under a spray of water stimulates such deep thinking patterns)...

i was thinking about what life experience does to you. be it travel, finishing a degree, friendships and relationships, finding a job, or simply having just gone through this life for the past 20 odd years.

obviously an accumulation of life experiences makes you a little bit wiser...or it supposedly does this anyway. all that stuff about lessons learnt blah blah blah. but i think it does more than that. it injects a bit more steel into your spine, a bit more independence, a bit of confidence, and gives you...well life experience.

and well hey, i just finished travellling alone. would you look at that? i have to say that even though my spine hasn't come back straighter...it's come back with a bit more steel.

we're in heaven

at a hungarian wedding, a newlywed hungarian husband made a toast.
this hungarian husband toasted to his newlywed hungarian wife with the sweet and heartfelt hungarian words of:

"you do not marry the one you can live with, you marry the one that you cannot live without"

ahhh hungarian men.
you are sexy.

it's so hot in here

so take off all your...??!!!

if only i could remember how that lyric ends.
good old melbourne weather! first the antartic wind and rain (hoorah for that!) hits and we experience 10 degree spring days and a couple of days later it's a sizzling and barmy 34 degrees. that's celcius for all farenheit people.

so that just makes my head a hurtsies from so damn much pathology trying to cram in there.
oh well looking forward to vip shopping on wed night! it will be my reward to myself (along with all other rewards to myself) for well nothing really. i'm a girl. how can i possibly say no to shopping?

as of 12:30pm on wed 22nd nov 2006. i will have freedom. till dec 11th 2006. then i will be a worker bee with a full time job. at least i have moolah to play with again.

anyone know anything fun/anywhere fun to go to in sydney?

take me back...

...back to europe.

after being home for a week...i'm ready to head back to europe. HAH. I WISH.

guess i'm going to have to stick it out in good old melbourne. my home.

why do i have to keep reminding myself of that?

DAMMIT

why is it that when you are trying to frantically print off a job application, the printer inevitably jams up and you are stuck??

it's just like being back at bloody uni again on the day something is due in. except with this...it's even worse! stupid application is still to be put in an express post and sent on it's merry way. boohoo.

teen titans

so much red.
talk about a shock there.

but at least that means now the battle with dragon ladies is more even...2 on 2!!!
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

culture shocked olga

here i sit early on a monday morning frantically trying to finish off job applications...and life appears to have sunk back into normality. well as normal as you can get after two months of travelling and living out of a backpack!

i thought i would have started with post trip reflections...but that just doesn't seem right. so instead i'm going to give you all a little snapshot of what kind of crazy things that i learnt while on this trip...

WHILE IN EUROPE, I LEARNT HOW TO...

1. carry 14kg of clothes, shoes, souvenirs, toiletries, other seemingly useful but really useless things in a backpack on my back. (my little red bag put on 3kg in london...oops)

2. run frantically with, climb stairs with, climb steep hills with, sleep on, efficiently pack, hike with and protect above mentioned backpack

3. drink a variety of beer, spirits and unknown substances

4. find my way around a country knowing about 4 words of the language and lots of hand signals

5. talk like a real aussie mate!

6. stay up drinking at an insane hour...and THEN go and party

7. take a good photo...without me in it

8. type up emails on weird keyboards with all the keys in the wrong place

9. cook...vegetable pasta

10. meet lots of people and then never see them again

so i didn't throw an exorbitant amount of money down the drain for nothing...i learnt something!

homeward bound!

actually...i'm HOME!!! got back yesterday...frightfully jetlagged and in a state of culture shock. i know it sounds funny to be in culture shock in australia...but even getting into a car was weird after having travelled on buses, trains and planes for two months.

loving it. love my bed. love my room. love my wardrobe. love my bathroom. love everything.

stay tuned for post trip reflections...

miss angry straight girl

so many people complaining!
makes me angry!
olga - do your thang and please somehow make you-know-who-as-the-eternal-complainer shut up.

i don't know if she reads this blog, so i have deleted my rather harsh but truthful remainder of my post. if she does then...err..."hello!", "shut up!".

if not i should've let it remain and vented.

looking forward to tackling the dragon ladies with ya when you're back. it has been hard doing it by myself....don't ever leave me again.
