olga's thoughtful reflections
so it is the eve of another week in gippsland. this weekend was hellishly crazy...and i'm left wondering where it has disappeared to. quick update on our darling amy's 21st celebration. it was lovely and hot...and got hotter as the night progressed. industrial fans really don't do much for the cooling down of 50 or so people. our "play" was a hit...with amy and anyone else who had a sense of humour that is! skip to night time where we crashed amy's house...and watched 6 episodes of season 4 sex and the city on the dvd that we bought her...and a few hours later conked out at about 4.30am. speed on to today where we surprisingly got ready in little time and made our merry way to southland. proceeded to spend some time there...got very very very sleepy and went back to amy's for cake...mmm...chocolate mousse cake. which kinda brings me back to my own little hut which i have spent like...no time at this weekend. and again i have not packed ANYTHiNG. so much for organisation. so moral of the story for this weekend "Happy Birthday Amy Baby!!". may there be many more...and may we REALLY celebrate on your real birthday...with lots and lots of alcohol.
oh yes there was supposed to be some thoughtful reflection in this. like any of it is ever thoughtful or reflective for that matter. ANYWAY...i often wonder whether we take our friendshipes for granted. to know that our close friends will be there through all the complexities that are our lives...to let them get away with anything (ie. SMSing at 5am in the morning)...and to have lasted through many years together. to have to dress them in fitting rooms...provide retail advice...to spend many hours in the car together...spend many hours EATiNG together. i don't know what brought this attack of thinking on. it makes me wonder what exactly makes a friendship work the way it does. well, it goes to say that "men may come and go, but friends will be there forever". oh i know what it was...we were watching a sex and the city episode about something or other and they were talking about friends.
